Having daughters can be both a mirror and magnifying glass.
Showing yourself and revealing your inner child to you. I have seen a younger version of myself in my girls countless times and often hold back tears as I remember happy, sad, and traumatic moments from my youth. In being gentle and kind to them, understanding their point of view and comforting them through challenges and obstacles, I am healing the little me within. In their five and ten years of existence thus far, they have been a tremendous blessing to my life and I am so glad the Almighty chose them for me. Past hurts and traumas were revealed to me through observing them. Learning from them and playing with them.
My girls are a magnifying glass in that they allow me to see my faults and imperfections. Not to be down on myself but to grow and evolve. Magnifying the love I have in my heart for myself and for them. Having daughters has been healing and revelatory. I wouldn’t change a thing.
